VR ‘s Company of the Year survey is the largest labor market survey in Iceland and has been conducted annually for over 25 years. The survey is administered by Gallup, who also analyzes the results.

Companies must guarantee all their employees the right to participate in the survey, regardless of union membership, and achieve a minimum answer threshold in order to be considered eligible for the selection for the title of Company of the Year. This year, a total of 158 companies fulfilled these criteria.

In addition, the top fifteen firms in each size category received the title Model Firm of The Year. Moreover, three companies, one in each size category, received special honors as the most Family-Friendly Firms of the year. Finally, three companies, one in each size category, received the VR Education Award 2024, in recognition of their efforts to create working environments which allow their employees to engage in lifelong learning.
