Company of the Year presented at Harpa

The results of VR’s Company of the Year 2026 survey were presented at a formal ceremony at Harpa on Wednesday, 13 May. Halla Gunnarsdóttir, Leader of VR, presented awards to companies in three size categories.

The companies that stood out and received the title Company of the Year 2026 are:

Large Companies (70 or more employees):

APRÓ
Garri
Travel Connect

Medium Companies (30–69 employees):

Hringdu
Orkan
Syndis

Small Companies (fewer than 30 employees):

Kjólar & Konfekt
Rekstrarfélag Kringlunnar
Tryggja

VR’s Company of the Year survey is the largest labour market study in Iceland and has a history spanning nearly thirty years. Gallup administered the survey and processed the results.

Companies that met the minimum response requirement and ensured participation rights for all their employees (not only VR members) were eligible for selection as Company of the Year, around 150 in total. In addition to the Company of the Year winners, awards were presented to the top fifteen companies in each size category, which were designated Model Firms 2026.

Two additional awards were also presented. Three companies received the title Family-Friendly Firms 2026, and three companies received the VR Education Award 2026.
