Don’t forget your holiday bonus!
In 2025 the holiday bonus for VR members is ISK 60,000 for those working a full-time job and is to be paid out on June 1st. A full-time job is 45 weeks worked 100% work excluding holiday time during the holiday reference year from 1 May 2024 to 30 April 2025.
The bonus is paid, based on job proportion, and working hours, to all employees who have been continuously employed by the employer for 12 weeks in the last 12 months, as of April 30, or are employed during the first week of May.
The holiday bonus is a fixed sum that is not subject to change according to other provisions of the collective agreement. Taxes, VR membership dues and pension fund payments are deducted from the holiday bonus. Holidays are not paid on top of the holiday bonus.
