Don't forget your holiday bonus!
The holiday bonus for VR members is ISK 62,000 in 2026 (based on full-time employment), and must be paid no later than 1 June. Full-time employment is defined as 45 weeks, excluding holiday, worked at 100% during the holiday year from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.
The bonus is paid - proportionally based on employment percentage and length of service - to all employees who have been continuously employed by the employer for at least 12 weeks during the last 12 months before 30 April, or who are employed during the first week of May.
The holiday bonus is a fixed amount and is not affected by wage changes under other provisions of the collective agreement. Tax, membership fees, and pension fund contributions are paid on the holiday bonus. Holiday pay is not paid on top of the holiday bonus.
