Election to the VR Youth Council
The election of three representatives to the VR Youth Council has begun and takes place from 12:00 noon Tuesday 21 May to 12:00 noon Friday 24 May 2024. According to the council's rules of procedure 6 members sit on the council, the Board of VR appoints three while members aged 16 - 35 elect three.
The deadline for candidacies expired on 16 May, and 15 candidates applied. There must be equal gender distribution in the council. As the Board of VR has appointed two men and one woman to the council members will elect one man and two women.
All VR members 16 to 35 years old can take part in the election. Access to an electronic ballot has been sent via email to those members eligible to vote who have registered their email address with VR. Members who do not receive an email but believe they have the right to vote, are advised to send a message to unglidarad@vr.is.
