First meeting of LÍV and SGS

As we recently reported, the largest national associations of workers in the labour market, Landssamband Íslenzkra verzlunarmanna (LÍV) and Starfsgreinasamband Íslands (SGS), decided to join forces in negotiations with Samtök atvinnulífsins (SA) on a new collective wage agreement.

Leaders from these associations met yesterday, Thursday, 27 October 2022, at VR’s premises to co-ordinate and decide the next steps.
The group was in very good spirits at this first meeting, but this collaboration covers close to 90,000 individuals working in the public labour market within twenty unions.
