Results of the VR Seniors’ Council Election

The election for the VR Seniors’ Council, which took place from 31 March until noon today, Thursday, 4 April, 2025, has now concluded. The following have been elected to the VR Seniors’ Council for the term 2025-2027: Steinar Viktorsson, Hafdís Erla Kristinsdóttir, and Erla Halldórsdóttir. Additionally, the following have been elected as alternate members: Halldór Þór Wium Kristinsson and Inga Þyri Kjartansdóttir. There were 11 candidates.

The results are as follows:

Steinar Viktorsson received 35% of the votes.
Hafdís Erla Kristinsdóttir received 26% of the votes.
Erla Halldórsdóttir received 25% of the votes.

Alternates:

Halldór Þór Wium Kristinsson received 22% of the votes.
Inga Þyri Kjartansdóttir received 21% of the votes.

The number of voters participating was 376. The number of registered voters was 4042. Voter turnout was therefore 9,3%.

The VR board will appoint three members to the Seniors’ Council.
