Tourist guide training receives certification

Four schools in Iceland recently received certification for their tourist guide training from BSI in Iceland. The certification is based on the ÍST EN 15565:2008 standard, which covers requirements for the competence and training of tourist guides. It was Leiðsögn - Tourist Guide Union within VR that requested that BSI in Iceland assess the training programmes of education providers, and the schools that were assessed and passed the evaluation are Continuing Education at the University of Iceland, the Icelandic Tourist Guide School, Kópavogur College, and Continuing Education at the University of Akureyri.

The board of Leiðsögn - Tourist Guide Union within VR invited representatives of the schools and presented them with recognition to mark this significant milestone.
