VR Board Approves Boycott of Israeli Products and Business – Statement

Over the past year, Israel's invasion of Palestine has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians. An entire nation lives under inhumane conditions while the Israeli authorities continuously disregard international law and are condemned by the international community. The invasion is now spreading across more borders, and the region is on the brink of all-out war.

The VR board feels a strong sense of duty and has decided to fully participate in the BDS boycott in support of Palestine. Additionally, the board will ensure that the union’s funds are not invested in companies profiting from illegal settlements. The VR board urges the Icelandic government to take decisive action to bring about peace.
