VR Calls for Candidacies for the VR Senior Council

The role of the VR Seniors’ Council is to advise the VR Board on policies concerning VR members aged 60 and older. According to Article 2 of the Senior Council’s rules of procedure, the council consists of six representatives, appointed every other year, with a two-year term.

Three representatives of the Senior Council are elected by full members of VR who are 65 years and older, and this election takes place following the VR Board elections.
For this reason, VR is calling for candidacies from full members of VR who are at least 65 years old and meet VR’s eligibility requirements for board members (see Article 11 of VR’s bylaws). The electronic election will take place from March 31 to April 3, 2025. Three primary representatives and two alternates are expected to be elected.

Those who wish to run for the VR Senior Council are asked to send an email with their name and ID number, a passport-style photo, and a short introduction (100 to 150 words) to oldungarad@vr.is before March 20, 2025. Candidate introductions will be available on the VR website.
