VR representatives on the Board of Lífeyrissjóður verzlunarmanna

The VR Representative Council at Lífeyrissjóður verzlunarmanna (the Pension Fund of Commerce), LIVE, approved at a meeting on 25 February the appointment of two VR primary board members to the fund’s Board, as well as one alternate.
Appointments are made for four years at a time, and half of VR’s representatives on the Board are appointed every other year, along with an alternate.

VR’s primary board members on the LIVE Board for the 2026–2030 term were appointed as Arnar Guðmundsson and Drífa Snædal, with Ólafur Reimar Gunnarsson as alternate. Already serving on the Board on behalf of VR are Stefán Sveinbjörnsson and Guðmunda Ólafsdóttir. Employers appoint four representatives and one alternate to the Board.

A call for board members was advertised, and a total of 19 people applied: 5 women and 14 men. Applicants went through an assessment process and interviews. Following that, the union’s nomination committee proposed two primary members and one alternate, and the Representative Council confirmed those proposals at its meeting, as stated above.
