Company of the Year 2022
VR presented the Company of the Year 2022 at a well attended reception yesterday, Thursday 19 May 2022. This year a total of sixteen companies will receive this title and almost another fifty the title Model Company of the Year 2022. The President of VR, Ragnar Þór Ingólfsson and Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland, presented the awards.
Don’t forget your holiday bonus
In 2022 the holiday bonus for VR members is ISK 53,000 for those working a full-time job, and is to be paid out on June 1st. A full-time job is 45 weeks worked in 100% work excluding holiday time during the holiday reference year from 1 May 2020 to 30 April 2021.
Wage increase and economic growth wage increase 2022
During our last wage agreements it was agreed for the first time to have annexes that would take into account the state of the economy. In this way, workers would receive a fixed ISK figure as a special wage increase on their monthly wages if a certain increase in economic growth is achieved.

VR offers Ukrainian refugees emergency assistance
The Board of VR condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine's free and sovereign state, which is a clear violation of international law, and we support any peaceful action that can end the war.
Economic growth wage increase takes effect
In VR‘s current wage agreement from 2019 wage increases were in the form of ISK (krónur) instead of percentage increases. In addition, for the first time in our wage agreements, an annex was agreed upon which would take into account the state of the economy.

VR's collective wage agreements with employers expire on 1 November. The future is uncertain as seldom before and it is important to prepare for the upcoming negotiations as well as possible.
Election to the board of VR for the year 2022 completed
At a meeting of VR's Consultative Council yesterday, Thursday 17. February 2022, the proposal of the union's board was approved regarding two principal members of VR's board for a term of two years and three alternate members for a one year term.
