VR holiday cottages and the COVID-19 epidemic
Due to the increase in COVID-19 infections, the Office of Epidemiology and the government have asked the public not to travel between different parts of the country for the next three weeks.
VR‘s reception closed due to COVID-19
The reception of VR union will be closed from Thursday, March 25. VR will only offer members services remotely. This is done in the interest of members‘ wellbeing.

General election at VR 2021
A general election among VR members on the election of president and for seven seats on the board of VR, in accordance with section 20 of VR‘s laws for the election period 2021-2023, began today, at 9:00 am, Monday, March 8, 2021, and ends at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 12, 2021.

VR buys 4 new holiday homes in the Highlands of Akureyri
On 27 January the VR board approved the purchase of four new holiday houses in the popular area of Hálönd by Akureyri in the North of Iceland.
A shorter working week, one year later
On 1. January 2020, just over one year ago, a shorter working week took effect for VR members, but we had made an agreement in VR’s collective wage agreement in 2019 about a fixed 45-minute reduction per week.
