The pay gap follows, over a lifetime

As the Year of Women 2025 draws to a close, it is fitting to discuss what comes after working life – retirement. The difference in earnings between women and men persists throughout life. Women not only earn less than men in the labour market, but they also receive lower pensions. 

At this forum, experts will present current data on the gender gap, examine the pension system from an equality perspective, and explore ways to level the playing field. 

Breakfast will be offered for those attending in person, along with an opportunity to participate in discussions following the presentations. 

The forum will be held in the VR hall on the 9th floor of the House of Commerce, Kringlan 7, on Thursday, November 20, from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. It will also be possible to attend the event online.
