Experience in Union Work
I’ve worked at the same company in Iceland for ten years, alongside both Icelanders and immigrants. I’ve been promoted every year, which has given me valuable insight into the different challenges people face in the labor market.
I also hold a BA degree in audio-visual media and postgraduate training in speech and leadership.
I’ve been involved in volunteer work with vulnerable children and the elderly, both in my home country and in Iceland.
I’ve taken Icelandic language courses while balancing work and family life.
Key Focus Areas
I am a woman, an immigrant, and a mother of two. I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t fully belong anywhere. This experience has taught me to listen — especially to others who feel the same way.
My goal is to give a voice to immigrants and their families within VR. I want their perspectives to be heard and for them to feel included in society.
In my own family, we combine my cultural background and Icelandic traditions. This helps our children grow up with roots in both countries.
I also want to share the experiences, needs, and responsibilities of immigrants with Icelandic society — to encourage greater understanding and cooperation.
