Note that the course is intended for VR shop stewards only. 

VR emphasizes that shop stewards receive all the key information related to collective bargaining issues and VR’s services. The course covers the main points of collective agreements such as sick leave, terminations, vacation, working hours, and accrued rights. It also reviews service elements such as the VR Contingency Fund, the Sickness Fund, the Vacation Fund, the Continuing Education Fund, and VIRK. 

Everything covered in the course is useful for shop stewards, which is why VR wants all of its shop stewards to attend this training day. Participants also learn methods for searching VR’s website and how they can guide their colleagues, who are VR members, to find important information about their rights and services on the website. 

The course is held in VR’s hall on the 9th floor of the House of Commerce, Kringlan 7, but it is also possible to attend via Teams. 

Note: The course will be conducted in Icelandic, but English interpretation will be available if needed. To request interpretation, please send an email to sandra@vr.is. A minimum of 5 shop stewards is required for interpretation services to be provided.
