An excellent campsite in VR’s holiday facilities area in Miðhúsaskógur in Bláskógabyggð municipality is available to VR members. Very good facilities for tents, camper vans, tent campers and similar is in the area, including an attractive service building with barbeque and wash basins, toilets, showers and a washing machine for the use of guests.

The price per night is ISK 2,000.
How do I book a camping ground slot at the campsite?
Members can access the VR Vacation Website by logging in. Select the tab “Available Dates”, select the menu bar “Category” and find “Campsite in Miðhúsaskógur” at the bottom of the list. The VR Vacation Website can also be accessed when logged in on My Pages.
Please note that no more than one camping vehicle or one tent is expected in each camping ground slot.
Please note: Refunds cannot be made once a booking and payment is processed.
The VR campsite rules
- The age limit for booking a camping ground slot is 20 years; this is based on the year in which a VR member turns 21.
- This is a family camping site; peace and quiet is to remain from midnight to 8:00 in the morning.
- Please note: Free-roaming dogs are not allowed at the campsite, and dog owners must clean up after their dogs. Dogs may not cause disruptions to other guests, and peace and quiet must remain at the campsite from midnight to morning.
- The campsite is intended for VR members only and their families. Members can invite a guest/guests to stay with them at the campsite; the number of guests may never exceed the number for which one camping ground slot allows. Pets may be kept at the campsite.
- The maximum stay at the campsite is ten days.
The site offers a play area, and there is also a playground for the children at the holiday cottages area in Miðhús, comprising i.a. a zip line, a trampoline, a frisbee golf course and minigolf. Enjoyable hiking trails can be found throughout Miðhúsaskógur.
Subsidy of camping vehicles
VR members can rent tent trailers, tent campers, caravans or camper vans from authorised rentals and receive a subsidy from VR on presentation of an invoice. The subsidy is ISK 5,000 per night, though it may not exceed ISK 30,000 for each holiday period. Payments are made in full after the stay; the rental period must be stated on the invoice.

Violations of the rules can result in suspension from the site.
