Collective Agreements with Norðurál and Elkem Approved

The voting on the collective agreements of VR and other trade unions representing employees at Norðurál and Elkem Iceland concluded at noon on Tuesday, April 22. The agreements were signed on April 10 and 11. Both agreements were approved by a large majority of the votes cast, with the results as follows:

Collective Agreement with Elkem:

104 voted yes, or 80.62%.
19 voted no, or 14.73%.
6 abstained, or 4.65%.

151 were on the electoral roll, 129 votes were cast, with a turnout of 85.43%.

Collective Agreement with Norðurál:

366 voted yes, or 72.76%.
121 voted no, or 24.06%.
16 abstained, or 3.18%.

684 were on the electoral roll, 503 votes were cast, with a turnout of 73.54%.
