Results of the VR Youth Council Election

The election for the VR Youth Council, which took place from May 21 until noon today, Friday, May 24, 2024, has now concluded. According to the Youth Council's rules, two women and one man were elected: Lára Portal, Sarah Mohammedi, and Tómas Guðni Sigurðarson. Additionally, the VR board has appointed three members to the Youth Council: Andrea Rut Pálsdóttir, Mateusz Gabríel Kowalczyk Róbertsson, and Þorvarður Bergmann Kjartansson. The council must have an equal gender distribution.

The results are as follows:

Lára Portal received 25,3% of the votes from those who participated.
Sarah Mohammedi received 24,9% of the votes from those who participated.
Tómas Guðni Sigurðarson received 14,7% of the votes from those who participated.

The number of votes cast was 293 The number of registered voters was 16211. Voter turnout was therefore 1,8%.
