The VR camping site is now open

The VR camping site in Miðhúsaskógur is now open. Members book a camping space on VR´s Holiday website (Orlofsvefur VR), where you can also see a map of the area. Each camping space is numbered, look for Tjaldstæði in the list. Please note that camping spaces no. 6 - 14 will be closed for the time being.

Members sign in to VR’s Holiday website, under the tab "Available period" there is a drop-down list. Choose "Category" and at the bottom you will find "Tjaldsvæði Miðhúsaskógi".

Price per night, per tent, is 2000 ISK.

The age limit for booking is 20 years, based on the year a VR member turns 21.

The camp site is only intended for VR members and their families, but members can invite a guest / guests to stay with them at the camp site, though never more than one extra tent. Pets are allowed on the camp site. The maximum stay at the camp site is ten days.

VR members can rent trailer tents, campers or caravans from authorized renters and receive a subsidy from VR if a receipt is provided. The subsidy is ISK 5,000. pr. night at a maximum of 30,000 kr. for each holiday period. Payment is made after the stay against proof of full payment and the rental period must be stated on the receipt.
