VR supports charity organizations during the holidays

As we have done in recent years, VR supports the work of various charity organizations during the holidays. This year it was decided to support the National Church's Relief Work by two million ISK and the Icelandic Red Cross by two million ISK. In addition, the branches of the Icelandic Red Cross in Akranes, East Iceland, South Iceland and the Westman Islands will be supported with ISK 250,000. each and the Suðurnes Welfare Fund about ISK 750,000. In addition, grants will be awarded this year to Iceland Family Aid in Suðurnes (Fjölskylduhjálp Íslands Suðurnesjum), the Maternity Grants Committee (Mæðrastyrksnefnd) and the Samferða charity.

This financial aid is accompanied by a wish for a happy holiday and prosperity in the coming year to all our members and compatriots, and not least to those who are struggling with difficulties and illness.
