Suggestions for implementation

Below you can see proposals for the implementation by shop assistants on the one hand and office workers on the other.

Implementation

a) Each day is shortened by 9 minutes: an employee shortens the working day by 9 minutes each day and goes home earlier, on unchanged terms.
b) Each week is shortened by 45 minutes or the time is accumulated by other means, for example every two weeks or monthly.
c) Accumulated throughout the year, approximately four and a half days.
d) Working hours are reduced by other means, on unchanged terms/wages.

VR enters into agreements with both the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA) and the Icelandic Federation of Trade (FA), and the same change is made in the working hours of all VR members, whether they are following the collective wage agreement of VR and SA or the collective wage agreement of VR and FA.

Office workers:

Example of arrangements within a company: Shorter attendance each day

Example of arrangements within a company: Unchanged attendance except one day a week

Shortening working hours by cancelling coffee breaks

There is also a possibility of shortening the working week even further by cancelling coffee breaks. This must be done in full consultation with employers.
