Adventure in the Christmas Forest with VR

VR is offering its members the opportunity to experience a magical adventure in the Christmas Forest in the lead-up to the holiday season. The event takes place in Guðmundarlundur and is hosted by jolasveinar.is. The event is held in Icelandic. VR members can choose to attend on November 25, 26, or 27. By spreading the event over several days, more people will have the chance to enjoy it.

Tickets are available on My Pages on the VR website. Tickets are offered at a discounted price of just ISK 500. Each VR member may purchase up to 6 tickets. Please note that the number of tickets is limited. Tickets cannot be changed or refunded.

Ticket sales begin Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 10:00.

Adventure in the Christmas Forest is a show where small groups of spectators walk through the forest in Guðmundarlundur, encountering characters from Iceland’s favorite Christmas family, including Grýla, Leppalúði, the Yule Lads, and their troll siblings. Performances start every 10 minutes and will only begin after it starts to get dark.

The walk lasts about an hour, and afterward, guests can take a photo with a Yule Lad, enjoy hot cocoa, and gingerbread cookies.

Guests are asked to dress according to the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and bring a flashlight, as these items are essential to fully enjoy the experience.

The event is designed for children aged four and older, but everyone is welcome. Please note, however, that the walking path is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Children under two enter for free. Additionally, attendees are asked not to bring dogs, to avoid disrupting the show or other guests.
