Company of the Year 2023

VR presented the results of their annual Company of the Year survey at a well-attended reception in Harpa concert hall on 10 May 2023. The chairman of VR, Ragnar Þór Ingólfsson and Ásmundur Einar Daðason, Minister of Education and Children, presented awards to the top-performing firms.

The Companies of the Year 2023 are as follows:

In the category of small companies, with fewer than 30 employees:

  • Farmers Market
  • Íslensk getspá
  • Kringlan
  • M7
  • Tryggja

In the category of medium-sized companies, with 30 - 69 employees:

  • Dohop
  • Expectus
  • Reykjafell
  • Toyota
  • Travel Connect

In the category of large companies, with 70 or more employees:

  • NetApp
  • Nova
  • Opin kerfi
  • Orkan
  • TK bílar

The Company of the Year survey was carried out among members of VR and other employees of companies that guaranteed everyone the right to participate, regardless of trade union membership. The survey was administered by Gallup, who also analyzed the results. The Company of the Year survey is the largest survey of its kind in the labour market.

Only companies that guaranteed all their employees the right to participate were considered for the selection of the title of Company of the Year, 155 in total.
In addition, awards for Model Firm of the Year were given to the top fifteen companies in the three size categories, or forty-five in total.

Moreover, one company in each size category received special recognition as the most Family- Friendly Firm. This is the first year VR hands out this additional honor in relation to the Company of the Year survey.
