The Third Shift selected word of the year 2022

Recently, RÚV chose the third shift as the word of the year 2022 at RÚV´s cultural awards. The word of the year is elected by RÚV´s readers. The results were quite decisive, but the third shift received a third of the votes in an online election, or twice as many votes as the words that followed.

VR is proud to have contributed to raising awareness about the concept of the third shift and what it entails, since the third shift and the mental burden that comes with it have a great impact on the position of women in the labour market, their career choices and employment. The demand for joint responsibility of men and women in the home, both in terms of projects and project management, is an important part of the fight for gender equality.
