Vote on strike call
The VR Election Committee hereby advertises a general secret vote on a call to strike which will apply to all jobs at Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport carried out according to the special wage agreement between SA (Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise) for Icelandair at Keflavík Airport and VR, valid from 1 November 2022 to 31 January 2024.
On the electoral roll are members to whom the notice applies, cf above. The strike involves the suspension of work (strike) as follows:
- From 00:01 Friday 22 March 2024 until 23:59 Sunday 24 March 2024.
- From 00:01 Wednesday 27 March 2024 until 23:59 Thursday 28 March 2024.
- From 00:01 Sunday 31 March 2024 until at 23:59 Tuesday 2 April 2024.
- From 00:01 Friday 5 April 2024 until 23:59 Tuesday 9 April 2024.
- Indefinite work stoppage from 00:01 Friday 12 April 2024.
The vote will begin at 9:00 am on Monday 11 March 2024 and conclude at 12:00 noon on Thursday 14 March 2024. Voting takes place on the union's website.
At its meeting on 5 March 2024, VR's Negotiations Committee agreed to hold a vote on strike action among VR's members who work in Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport. See the committee's proposal.
All union members on the electoral roll who work at Icelandair's passenger and baggage services at Keflavík Airport according to the above mentioned special wage agreement will receive ballot papers and a link to electronic voting via email in the next few days. Digital ID is required to vote. Members who do not have digital ID can vote at VR's office at Krossmói 4a in Reykjanesbær during opening hours.
