VR offices will be closed from 12:00 noon today, Tuesday, 20 May 2025, due to an employee training day. This applies to all the union’s offices, i.e. in Reykjavík, Vestmannaeyjar, Reykjanesbær, Selfoss, Egilsstaðir, and Akranes.

Available holiday houses in winter

The allocation of holiday houses for specific periods during the winter of 2025–2026 has been completed. Holiday houses that were not rented out for the winter of 2025–2026 will become available for booking on the VR holiday website on Monday, May 19 at 10:00.

The election for the VR Seniors’ Council, which took place from 31 March until noon today, Thursday, 4 April, 2025, has now concluded. The following have been elected to the VR Seniors’ Council for the term 2025-2027: Steinar Viktorsson, Hafdís Erla Kristinsdóttir, and Erla Halldórsdóttir. Additionally, the following have been elected as alternate members: Halldór Þór Wium Kristinsson and Inga Þyri Kjartansdóttir.

Bookings for Available Holiday Houses Open

Bookings for holiday houses that were not rented out this summer are now open on VR’s holiday website. All VR members can apply for available holiday houses, regardless of whether they have rented a house in the past three summers or not.
