General election at VR 2021
A general election among VR members on the election of president and for seven seats on the board of VR, in accordance with section 20 of VR‘s laws for the election period 2021-2023, began today, at 9:00 am, Monday, March 8, 2021, and ends at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 12, 2021.

All VR members in good standing (who have full membership) have the right to vote in the election. Also on the electoral roll are older members (who have quit working due to age) who paid a union dues at age 67 and had paid a.m. 50 months out of 60 in the last five years before reaching the age of 67.
How you elect the president and board of VR
1. On the front page of vr.is next to " VR elections 2021", click on "Click here to vote"
2. Log in with an Íslykli or electronic ID
3. A ballot paper opens with information on how to vote.
If you do not have an Íslykil or electronic ID, you apply for those on island.is.
